The Blunt Axe Award was brought into existence by Paul Segers in 2009 to honor the 1st B.A.A. winner Luk Sponselee for his 25 years landmark of hyperactivity in the Eindhoven art scene (& far beyond). After that, it was decided that the NBF would continue handing out this Award to honor those that show the right attitude and militant optimism within the art scene and therefore, as a figure of speech 'chop with the blunt axe'...
The committee that decides who deserves the Blunt Axe Award is highly nontransparent, not to mention their motives and standards. The 2nd Blunt Axe Award was awarded to Jacki Dodemontová.
Vrijdag 24 september 2010 was het weer zover: de tweede Botte Bijl Award werd uitgereikt aan Jacki Dodemontová voor haar onaflatende bijdrage aan het Eindhovense kunstklimaat.
De uitreiking vond plaats in de TAC, tijdens het Armut macht geil festival alwaar Jacki aanwezig was bij de uitreiking van de Bert Hermens prijs. De Award werd dit jaar verzorgd door Jan Dams Paul Segers
"De commissie heeft kandidaat ‘Jacki Dodemontová’ genomineerd voor deze award voor haar onaflatende interesse in de schone kunsten, en haar stille vrijwillige bijdrage hieraan in een veelheid aan rollen binnen het Brabantse cultuurlandschap."
